The ZIL Center for Integral Logistics is a Center of the Zurich University of Applied Sciences, within the School of Engineering and the department of Logistics, Mobility and Sustainable Development.
History and Mission
The ZIL was established in 2010, with the mission to understand and develop logistics with an integral approach. In an interconnected world with a globalized economy, there are potentials for industry and commerce to develop logistics; through the use of new media access, the worldwide market place becomes accessible – for the comprehensive procurement of information and the exchange of goods and services.
Tasks and Goals
The ZIL is a competence center with cross-sectional functions in the areas of material flow logistics, (supply chain management, warehousing, packaging, distribution, transport, and reverse logistics) and in the areas of information logistics (planning, simulation and optimization of enterprise resource planning, e-business, multichannel management, and product information management).
It fulfills the following core functions:

- Further Education

The ZIL is financed from the following sources:
- Project proceeds
- Research funds (e.g. CTI, SNFS, EU, foundations)
- Teaching and further education
